RULES AND REGULATIONS

WHO CAN ENTER  Architects and other design professionals practicing in any region may enter one or more submissions. All entries must be commissioned by paying clients for execution. Proposals may be for any location. All entries must have been commissioned for compensation by clients with the contractual intention and the authority to carry out and build the submitted proposal. Projects must have a completion date after May. 1, 2024.

REAL PROJECTS ONLY  All entries must have been commissioned for compensation by clients with the contractual intention and the authority to carry out and build the submitted proposal. A project entered in a design competition is eligible only if it is the winning proposal and one that the competition’s sponsor intends to build.

ARCHITECTURAL AND URBAN DESIGN ENTRIES  Architectural design entries may only include works of architecture scheduled to be completed after May. 1, 2024. Urban design entries must have been accepted by a client who intends to base future development on them; please include an implementation timeline.

VERIFICATION OF CLIENT  Awards and citations are contingent upon ARCHITECT’s verification that selected projects meet all eligibility requirements, including ARCHITECT’s direct contact with clients. ARCHITECT reserves the right to make the final decision on eligibility and accepts no liability in that regard.

PROVIDING ADDITIONAL MATERIALS  Entrants whose submissions are selected as winners agree to make available further information and publication-quality graphic materials as needed by ARCHITECT.

PUBLICATION  All entries could be featured online in ARCHITECT’s Project Gallery. Winners will be published online at architectmagazine.com in May/June 2024.

AWARD  P/A Awards winners will be announced first online in May/June 2024 at architectmagazine.com.

ENTRY CATEGORIES  Identify each submission on its entry form by type (see categories above). Mixed-use facilities should be classified by the largest function; there is no “miscellaneous” category. Only one category may be selected per project, and each project may only be entered once.

PROCESS DOCUMENTATION  Entries should document the design process, as well as its result. ARCHITECT encourages entrants to include preliminary sketches, alternative schemes, information on context, precedents for the design, and records of research performed in support of the project to show how the final scheme developed.

ANONYMITY  To maintain anonymity in judging, no names of entrants or collaborating parties may appear on any submission materials except where specifically requested on the online entry forms. Do not, however, conceal the identity or location of the project itself. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in immediate disqualification; ARCHITECT will not adjust any submission to make it comply with this rule.

ENTRY FORMS  Each submission must be registered online ahead of the submission deadline using this website. Additional materials must also be uploaded to the website prior to the submission deadline.
